Most of these drawings are preparatory sketches for my glass paintings-- some actualized, others still floating in my brain. For the charcoal drawings I often start with one smaller sheet of drawing paper and add sheets as I expand out. I will sometimes cut and paste in a portion from another drawing. This building process can leave some strange divisions. For the oil sketches I use pieces of leftover wall
board. They allow me to play with color to develop the palette for later.
