In my artwork I try to show Nature's imprint on mankind rather than just mankind's impact on the environment. To do this I reference childhood and Arcadia. Typically "childhood" has been an idealized time while Arcadia, a mythic place of harmony with Nature, has been celebrated in poetry, painting, music, and dance for its simplistic beauty. My own concerns reflect three words often used by both environmentalists and creative types:
Recycle --of materials by using throwaways
Revival -- of memories and stories conjured from old pictures
Renewal -- of art of the past by using them as inspiration and even idioms in my own art work.
